Brock Falkenberg is the Lake County Superintendent of Schools, and directs the Lake County Office of Education (LCOE). The primary role of LCOE is to provide support to our local K-12 school districts and fulfill legal requirements set forth by the California Legislature.
In Addition, LCOE administers numerous programs aimed at students of all ages, from preschoolers to adults. One of these programs is Teach Lake County (TLC).
Teach Lake County is a new teacher development program created by LCOE in partnership with the Mendocino County Office of Education (MCOE). TLC provides training, coaching, mentorship and affordable certification pathways to support permit teachers and teacher credentialing.
Why is TLC so important to Lake County? It is affordable; classes take place in Lake and Mendocino counties; and the program provides our teachers with a local perspective to address the specific needs of our own student population.
Currently, Teach Lake County is offering credentialing programs for special educators and multiple subjects teachers. For more information about Teach Lake County, please visit lakecoe.org/TLC.
